BIOGRAPHY: George Chave

George Chave (b. 1959) retired from academia in 2019. In 2023 he founded the Generation Brass Quintet. His “Fuel” arrangement was a winner in the 2023 Hal Leonard/Metallica Marching Band Composition Contest. His arrangements and compositions are found at brassmagicmusic.com He holds a PhD in Music Composition from Washington University in St. Louis and is Professor Emeritus of Composition at the University of Texas at Arlington.
